Man killed after being shot on Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO (WGN) — A man has died after being shot on the South Side of Chicago Friday afternoon.

Chicago police say an unidentified male victim was standing near the sidewalk in the 6200 block of South Rhodes Avenue at around 4 p.m. when he was struck in the abdomen by gunfire.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.

There are no suspects in custody, police say. The investigation is ongoing.
