IMPD: Person shot and killed on Indy’s east side

Indianapolis Metro police crews were called just after 6 p.m. Friday to the 3000 block of N. Mitthoefer Road near the 30th Street intersection for a person shot.

Upon arrival, IMPD said officers found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. That victim was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing. The name of the victim will be released once next-of-kin notifications have been made.
