Genre:

True Crime Thriller

Nick Offerman ditches the jokes for full-blown danger in this slow-burning thriller based on real-life extremism. A young man gets wrapped up in a twisted ideology passed down from his father, and the deeper it goes, the scarier it gets. It’s intense, grounded, and uncomfortably close to home.

Heads of State (PG-13)

Where to Watch: Disney +/ Hulu

Directed By:

Ilya Naishuller

Starring:

Idris Elba, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino

Genre:

Action Comedy

All media courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios

John Cena and Idris Elba trade in their heads of state suits for bodyguards with baggage when the US President and UK Prime Minister get caught in a full-blown conspiracy. It’s big explosions, sharp suits, and action-comedy banter with international stakes. This is both a throwback to the mid-budget action thrillers from before, but a reminder of how much fun a simple, silly idea could be if performed by the right cast.
