Activated for deployment: Ohio Task Force 1

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Roughly a week after deadly flooding impacted Texas, Ohio Task Force 1 is being deployed.

According to an OH-TF1 spokesperson, crews are headed to the Lone Star state to assist with search, rescue and recovery efforts. Deploying members include two Canine Search Specialists with 2 canines, as well as a search team manager.

“We look forward to working with the great folks in Texas and assisting those in need,” said OH-TF1.

FEMA’s Urban Search and Rescue System activated the members today at 12:15 p.m. OH-TF1 will leave its Vandalia headquarters early this evening for Texas.
