COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- We have been tracking strong storms to end your Friday. Power outages have been reported across east Alabama and minor damage as well.

Weekend: Temperatures will sit in the lower 90s Saturday, but heat index readings will sit in the upper 90s. Stray storms will be possible in the afternoon.

Afternoon highs will rise on Sunday. Readings will sit in the upper 90s, with feel-like temps in the lower 100s. Isolated storms will remain in the forecast for the end

Next Week: Rain chances will remain lower for the start of the week, allowing for the heat wave to continue. Heat Index temperatures will be near 105 degrees on Monday and Tuesday afternoon.

Starting at the middle of the week, we will trade the heat for the rain. Scattered showers and storms will build each afternoon. These high rain chances will continue through next weekend. Meanwhile, heat index temps will cool into the low-mid 90s.
