CHICAGO — A search is underway this week for a teen boy who Chicago police say has been missing for several days, and officers are now asking for help from the public.

According to police, 13-year-old Gadiel Acosta-Gomez has been missing since Monday, July 7.

Officers say the missing teen was last seen on Monday in the 5500 block of South Archer Avenue, near Midway Airport in Garfield Ridge.

The teen boy, who police say stands 5-foot-2 and weighs around 140 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

In a photo provided by Chicago police, Acosta-Gomez is seen wearing a necklace with a silver cross charm, though officers did not say if he had it on at the time of his disappearance.

Details about the teen’s disappearance were shared by police in a news release that was sent out late Wednesday night, but officers did not provide details on what he was last spotted wearing.
