Rescue underway after truck falls off Delaware Memorial Bridge

(WPHL) — A water rescue is underway after a tractor trailer drove off the Delaware Memorial Bridge and fell into the water.

The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed to PHL17 that is looking for a semi-truck that fell off the bridge in the early hours of the morning on I-295 southbound.

In a post by the Delaware Memorial Bridge on X, two lanes are currently closed.

“Right lane for construction; left due to Tractor truck accident early this AM. Traffic delays expected.” the post said.

At the this time the the semi-truck and driver have not been found.
