According to the updated data shared Friday, agents in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin have seized more than 1.5 million fentanyl pills since the year began.
So far this year, agents have recovered more fentanyl pills in the three states than in the previous three years combined.
Agents say in 2022, they seized 64,800 fentanyl pills. That number climbed to 405,200 pills by 2023 and to 589,900 by 2024. But in 2025, the number of seized pills climbed significantly to 1.6 million, a 170% increase over the previous year.
In addition to fentanyl pill seizures, agents also shared updated data for seizures of cocaine, heroin, meth and fentanyl in non-pill form.
In 2024, agents seized 4,777 pounds of cocaine and 1,758 pounds of meth. So far this year, agents have seized 3,550 pounds of cocaine and 1,201 pounds of meth.
Seizures of heroin climbed from 28 pounds in 2024 to 229 pounds so far this year, while seizures of fentanyl in non-pill form also climbed from 229 pounds in 2024 to 395 pounds so far in 2025.
