CHP: Man dead after running stop sign in Fresno County
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Clovis man was killed in a Fresno County crash after allegedly running a stop sign, the California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash in the area of DeWolf and South avenues in Fresno County on Thursday at around 2:35 p.m.

According to officers, a 24-year-old man from Clovis was driving a Subaru north on DeWolf Avenue and approached a posted stop sign at South Avenue. At the same time, a 55-year-old man from Parlier was driving a Ford east on South Avenue, which is not controlled by a stop sign.

CHP says that the preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Subaru ran the posted stop sign, entering the intersection and colliding with the Ford, which was unable to avoid the collision. The front of the Ford struck the left side of the Subaru, and the impact resulted in the death of the vehicle’s driver.

The driver of the Ford reported moderate injuries. CHP reports both drivers were wearing seatbelts, and the collision remains under investigation.
