According to Border Patrol, around 8 p.m. on July 9, agents discovered multiple migrants attempting to escape from a storm drain.
Agents were able to apprehend two migrants immediately and found more individuals still inside the drain, unable to get out, Border Patrol said.
Agents then notified the El Paso Fire Department to assist in rescuing the remaining 14 migrants, Border Patrol said.
After rescuing the migrants, Border Patrol said they were all in good health and did not require any emergency medical attention.
Agents determined that the migrants illegally entered the U.S., and all were processed and placed into removal proceedings, Border Patrol said.
