BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — July 10, 2025
A 31-year-old Bloomington man was arrested Thursday morning following an injury crash involving a pickup truck and a farm tractor on West State Road 45 near South Duncan Road, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at approximately 5:40 a.m. and discovered a 2004 black Dodge Ram had rear-ended a Massey Ferguson farm tractor.
The tractor’s driver, Jesse Prince, 62, of Bloomington, was pinned in the wreckage and unable to move immediately following the crash. He was later transported by Lifeline ambulance to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
The driver of the truck, identified as Jared Hash, was also injured and received initial care at the scene from Monroe County Fire Protection District personnel. He was then transported by sheriff’s deputies to the hospital for further evaluation and investigation.
Due to the severity of the crash, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstructionist was called to the scene. The road remained closed from 5:40 a.m. until 8:20 a.m. as emergency crews worked to investigate and clear the scene.
Hash was later arrested on a charge of Operating While Intoxicated causing serious bodily injury with a prior conviction, a Level 4 felony.
Authorities note that all charges are merely accusations at this stage, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
