According to the Amber Alert, Jibreel was last seen on July 7. Investigators believe the boy’s mother and 13-year-old stepsister were killed within the past 48 hours, suggesting Williams may have had a significant head start in his escape. Police have not released the suspected cause of death.
He is believed to be traveling in a gray 2010 Honda Accord, Alabama tag 43A224A, and is considered armed and dangerous.
Auburn Assistant Police Chief Michael Harris confirmed:
“The child is believed to be in imminent danger. We do believe [Williams] is armed with a firearm. The public is advised to call 911 and not to engage with Williams,” said Harris
Police were called to a home on Samantha Court around 2:30 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check. After forcing entry, officers discovered the bodies of a woman and a girl.
WRBL spoke with Lance Wright, who says the juvenile victim is his 13-year-old daughter, Zynnya Wright. He says he warned the court about Williams just one month ago during a June 10 hearing in Lee County.
“Lee County Justice Center failed my daughter,” Wright said. “I told that courtroom it was just a matter of time before he hurt somebody.”
WRBL has reached out to the Lee County District Attorney‘s office for a comment on Wright’s allegations.
Wright, who lives in Opelika, said Williams accused Zynnya and her mother of harming Jibreel during the hearing. Wright says the real threat was Williams — a man with a history of domestic violence and a litany of other charges, according to court documents. Wright claims Williams had just been released from prison in 2024 after a domestic violence conviction.
“Zynnya was loved to dress up, loved being in front of a camera, a great student — not a troublemaker. And she loved her little brother and all her siblings,” said Wright.
There have been no confirmed sightings of Williams or the vehicle. Auburn Police are urging the public to remain alert and contact law enforcement with any information.
Call 911 or Auburn Police at 334-501-7313 if you see Williams or the gray Honda Accord.
