More rain, but more scattered: Futurecast shows we will continue to see a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Thursday, but the coverage of those storms will likely be lower. Wednesday’s storms will quickly come to an end on Wednesday evening. The rest of Wednesday night will be dry with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds on Thursday. Scattered areas of rain with some thunder will develop during the afternoon. It appears that the coverage of this activity will be highest over the southern half of the area. This rain will end Thursday evening, and we should see drier conditions starting on Friday.
Thursday temperatures: Temperatures on Thursday will likely be near or slightly below normal. Overnight lows in the morning will likely be in the low to middle 70s. Daytime highs during the afternoon will be in the low to possibly middle 90s, depending on the coverage of the rain that develops.
Long-range outlook: A much drier weather pattern will settle over the ArkLaTex starting on Friday. Thanks to a few clouds, temperatures will be hotter. Daytime highs on Friday and this weekend will likely return to the middle 90s. As upper-level high pressure moves over our area during the first half of next week, we could see highs warm into the upper 90s. We could see the chance of rain increase a little later next week. Overnight lows will remain in the mid to possibly upper 70s.
