Six injured after 2-alarm fire breaks out at south Charlotte apartments: Medic

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Six people have been hurt after a two-alarm fire at a south Charlotte apartment complex early Thursday morning, according to the Charlotte Fire Department and Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic).

Around 5:30 a.m. on July 10, fire officials said they were battling a fire in the 8500 block of Winter Oaks Lane. This is in a residential area near South Boulevard and Sharon Road West.

Firefighters say they arrived to see heavy fire coming through the roof. Minutes later, a second alarm was called, bringing more crews to help.

Medic says six people needed to be taken to Atrium Carolinas Medical Center. Of those, three people have life-threatening injuries, one has serious injuries and two have minor injuries.
