Silver Alert declared for missing Vincennes woman

VINCENNES, Ind. — A statewide Silver Alert has been declared for a woman who disappeared from Knox County.

The Vincennes Police Department is asking the public for help in locating 54-year-old Taunja Blackburn. She is described by Indiana State Police as a 5’3″, 160-pound white woman with red hair and blue eyes.

Blackburn reportedly disappeared around 5 p.m. on Monday, July 7, from Vincennes, approximately 120 miles southwest of Indianapolis. It is unknown what clothes she was wearing at the time of her disappearance.

Police said that Blackburn is believed to be in extreme danger and that she may require medical assistance.

Anyone with information on Blackburn’s whereabouts is being asked to immediately call 911 or contact VPD by calling (812) 882-1630. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS.
