A deputy who monitors local sex offenders, obtained a search warrant after developing information that Douglas, who had claimed to be homeless during routine status checks since 2022, was actually residing at Kingswood Mobile Home Park in rural Mountain Home.
Deputies served the warrant Tuesday morning and found Douglas asleep inside the residence, along with multiple personal belongings confirming he had been living there. The mobile home park is located across the highway from a city soccer complex, making it a restricted area for Level 3 sex offenders under Arkansas law.
Douglas was arrested and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on two felony charges of failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements and residing in a prohibited area as a sex offender.
Douglas is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on July 21. He is being held in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000.
