Precautionary boil water advisory issued for parts of New Orleans East

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A precautionary boil water advisory was issued for parts of New Orleans East on Thursday, July 10.

According to officials with the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans, water pressures fell below 20 psi during maintenance. The water pressure has since been restored, but further maintenance will resume at a later date.

SWBNO officials say the precautionary boil advisory will remain until samples are returned that prove the water to be safe.

The advisory spans the following areas:

• Morrison Road from Berg Road to Dune Drive
• Dune Drive from Morrison Road to Hayne Boulevard
• Hayne Boulevard from Dune Drive to Berg Road
• Chef Menteur Highway from Industrial Parkway to Chef Menteur Pass, which includes the Venetian Isles subdivision and including businesses along the Industrial Parkway and Intracoastal Drive
• Old Gentilly Road from Inner Harbor Navigation Canal to Elaine Street
• Elaine Street from Old Gentilly Road from Intracoastal Waterway
• Intracoastal Waterway from Elaine Street to Inner Harbor Navigation Canal 
• Inner Harbor Navigation Canal from Old Gentilly and Intracoastal Waterway
