VIENNA, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department says that a potential measles case temporarily closed a medical building in Wood County earlier this week.

According to the health department’s Facebook page, the Mid-Ohio Valley Medical Group had to close its building near the Grand Central Mall in Vienna on Wednesday as it assessed a potential measles case in the building.

It’s unclear if the case was confirmed or denied, but the health department said that it has not been informed of any cases or received reports of positive tests.

12 News spoke with a representative from Bond’s Drug, the pharmacy that operates inside the building, who confirmed that it has reopened as of Thursday. The health department said that no other information would be available at this time.

As of Thursday, West Virginia has yet to have a confirmed case of measles amid a record-setting year for the disease across the U.S.
