Protesters and federal agents clashed outside of an agricultural farm in Camarillo Thursday afternoon following a large-scale immigration enforcement operation.
Video from Sky5 showed a crowd of protesters coming face to face with a line of heavily armed federal agents who were conducting an immigration sweep at the property.
Dozens of people were seen detained in the area as part of the immigration operation.
It’s the latest in a string of high-profile, high-visibility immigration operations conducted in Southern California by the Department of Homeland Security and/or its federal partners.
Another immigration raid took place Thursday morning in nearby Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County.
There have been reports that the properties may have been cannabis cultivation farms.
President Donald Trump briefly called for limited immigration enforcement sweeps at agricultural properties, hotels and restaurants following backlash from small businesses affected by the raids. But that pause was short-lived, and federal agents have resumed operations at these sites.
