Eastbound I-70 will be closed between MacVicar Avenue and Sixth Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, according to KDOT. The closure will let crews make lane shift and traffic control adjustments.
KDOT said MacVicar Avenue will be the last available exit for eastbound drivers. Traffic will follow detours south to I-470, or north to U.S. 75 to U.S. 24 to K-4. Drivers can use a detour from MacVicar Avenue to Sixth Avenue to Monroe Street then to the eastbound I-70 on-ramp.
KDOT said additional closures on I-70 may happen if more work is needed. Both directions of I-70 will be reduced to one lane until construction is complete. For more information on the Polk-Quincy Viaduct project, click here.
