According to Philadelphia Police, 20-year-old Zaakir McClendon is being charged with Murder, Criminal Conspiracy, VUFA-No License, VUFA- On Streets, PIC, and REAP for shooting and killing 16-year-old Nafis Betrand-Hill.
The shooting occurred on April 13, 2023, at 8:57 p.m., on the 2300 block of Montgomery Avenue.
Betrand-Hill sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries at 9:13 p.m.
Police were able to recover a gun, eleven spent 9mm casings, and twenty spent .40 caliber casings at the scene.
