Instagram down? User reports indicate problems with Meta-owned social media platform

(KRON) — Social media platform Instagram apparently went down Wednesday afternoon, according to user reports. Reports of problems with the Meta-owned photo-sharing network spiked on the Downdetector website around 4:30 p.m.

Users reported problems with the server connection, login, and the app. In the KRON4 newsroom, the mobile app appeared to be functioning as normal, but the desktop version failed to load.

There was no immediate word on what caused the outage or when it would be resolved.
