Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders appoints new member to Arkansas Game & Fish Commission

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders appointed a new member to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the governor’s office said Jamie Anderson was named to the commission to replace the outgoing Chairman John David “J.D.” Neeley. Anderson’s term will last until 2032.

Anderson is a fourth-generation aquaculture farmer at I.F. Anderson Farms, founded in 1949 by his father and grandfather. Anderson and his wife, Elizabeth, live on the farm in Lonoke with their two teenage sons.

“I’ve been lucky enough to call Jamie and his wife, Elizabeth, friends for years and I am beyond excited to appoint Jamie to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission,” the governor said.”As a longtime aquaculture farmer and hunter, Jamie’s knowledge of wildlife and conservation policy will be a great asset to Arkansas.”

Officials said Anderson, an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, is a founding member of the Arkansas Waterfowl Association, a nonprofit that creates hunting, fishing, and outdoor opportunities for underserved youth. He has served in every leadership role there, including President.

“Whether it be through business or recreation, my life revolves around the outdoors and conservation,” Anderson said, adding, “Arkansas is on the forefront of wildlife management and resource conservation, and I am deeply honored that Governor Sanders has put her trust in me to be a part of that at this level.”
