ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Deputies arrested Markevin Harvey, 38, for allegedly endangering a child while fleeing from a traffic stop.

On June 29, around 10:47 p.m., officers attempted to pull over a gray Ford transit van on Harrison Avenue for failing to use a turn signal.

The van fled through the parking lot of a Fas Mart gas station and back onto Harrison, authorities reported.

The driver ignored multiple traffic lights and signs while driving over 63 miles per hour with the headlights off on the vehicle, according to court records.

An officer saw Harvey drop a child off at a residence in the 4800 block of Upland Avenue.

He was eventually taken into custody and booked into the Winnebago County Jail on July 10.

Harvey is charged with aggravated fleeing police while driving 21 miles per hour over the limit, aggravated fleeing, reckless driving, endangering a child and multiple traffic violations.
