The book, which was released in May, features different recipes through the prism of the 50 states across the United States.

“In this tour de food, B. Dylan Hollis takes you on a delicious road trip to taste everything from the coffee-crazed creations of the Pacific Northwest to the larger-than-life sheet cakes of Texas,” a publicity statement for the book read.

As part of his process, Hollis traveled around the country to sample different foods and share the recipes others showed him from each state. In Alabama, Hollis shared recipes for Mobile Bay Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Pie and the Prized Lane Cake.

“Ask any Southerner to measure the ‘Southern-ness’ of the southland states, and we’ll find that Alabama is consistently first in rank,” Hollis wrote in the book. “It isn’t the depth of the drawl that lands her on the podium nor any particular product of geography. It is quite simply: pride. Alabamians are the warm Southern folk who will ‘bless your heart’ both as a kind gesture or in response to something profoundly daft you’ve done.”

Hollis currently has over 10.2 million followers on TikTok and 2.4 million subscribers on YouTube.
