Woman shot in the head, Yazoo City police seek suspect

YAZOO CITY, Miss. (WJTV) – Yazoo City police are searching for a suspect after a woman was shot in the head.

The shooting occurred on 4th Street at Maynie Avenue around 5:00 a.m. on July 5.

Yazoo City Police Chief Terry Gann said the unidentified woman was shot in the head. She was transported to a hospital in Jackson. There’s no word on her condition.

According to the police chief, the woman’s vehicle was shot into eight or 10 times.
