Rockford teen accused of driving recklessly with a gun in a vehicle
LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — Loves Park Police arrested Bryan Simon, 19, for allegedly driving erratically with a firearm in the vehicle.

On July 8, around 2 a.m., officers were patrolling when they saw a Mercury Sable speeding near North Second. Officials were unable to catch up to the car.

Authorities later found the suspect’s vehicle in the 1500 block of East Riverside at an ATM. Police attempted to arrest Simon, but he resisted, court records show.

One officer pulled a taser on Simon and held him down on the ground until other law enforcement arrived on the scene.

Officials searched the suspect’s car and found a handgun in the front passenger seat.

Simon is charged with reckless driving, aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon under the age of 21, aggravated unlawful possession of a loaded weapon without a FOID and resisting an officer.
