Emma Boone with Visit Shreveport-Bossier joined us to share what makes the rally a must-attend event. “It’s a super fun community event with something for everyone…kids zones, food and drinks, shopping with the Bossier Farmers Market, and even tethered balloon rides,” Boone said.
General admission is just $5 at the gate, and kids five and under get in free. The rally is also home to the Louisiana State Ballooning Championship, a unique competition where balloon pilots launch from various locations and aim to drop a bean bag on a giant X target. Whoever lands closest is crowned champion.
One of the biggest highlights of the weekend is the Balloon Glow, where balloons light up in sync with music as the sun sets.
Tethered balloon rides will be available for $25 per person (cash only), with proceeds going directly to the pilots.
The event will be held at Louisiana Downs, where guests can also cool off inside with access to air conditioning and indoor vendors.
