According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the closure will be in place for 60 days and is part of the Clear Path 465 project that is underway on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Per INDOT, crew will be reconstructing the ramp during the closure.
Additional lane and ramp closures are also expected to be implemented this weekend at I-465’s interchange with I-69 on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The weekend closures will allow crews to restripe pavement and move a concrete barrier wall on Binford Boulevard.
Starting Friday at 9 p.m., the ramp connecting southbound I-69 to southbound Binford Boulevard will close until Monday at 6 a.m. A single lane of northbound Binford Boulevard will also be shut down from Friday to Monday.
INDOT indicated that work start dates and times could change in the event of inclement weather. The agency is also encouraging drivers to plan alternate routes around the construction and expect some travel delays.
Safe Zones enforcement is still ongoing in Clear Path construction zones. According to INDOT, the Safe Zones program uses automated systems to monitor motorists’ speeds in select work zones. The agency reported that the goal of the program is to keep construction workers, drivers and passengers safe by reducing excessive speeding and crashes in work zones.
