COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Readings today rose once again into the lower 90s, and many cities hit triple digits for heat index values. Over the next several hours we will be tracking stray showers and storms.

Wednesday: Get ready for yet another day of heat tomorrow. Heat index temperatures will hit the century mark for many. Rain will begin to build shortly after midday and will linger until after sunset.

Rest of the Work Week: High afternoon temperatures will continue until Friday afternoon when we “cool down” into the lower 90s. Rain chances will continue to increase. Scattered storms will be possible Wednesday through Friday. This brings much needed rainfall, as we are nearly an inch below our rainfall average.

Next Weekend: Rain chances will gradually decrease by next weekend. Plus, temperatures will sit in the lower 90s.
