Lafayette marshal Brian Pope’s probation revoked in court

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Former Lafayette City Marshal Brian Pope’s probation has been revoked after appearing in court in June.

Pope was in court for violating his probation on malfeasance and perjury charges. He appeared by a Zoom meeting according to court records.

Pope was arrested in March for failing to appear in court on probation and parole violations. He was found guilty on charges of perjury and malfeasance in office at the time.

Court records show Pope admitted he did not comply with the rules of his probation. The judge then ruled to revoke his probation. It’s not known how much time he will have to serve. He was also ordered to pay restitution.
