Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit determined that the vehicle that was driven by the suspect, 18-year-old Jaquavion Daise, was used intentionally to hit the person riding on a bicycle.

The impact caused the victim to be severely injured, which resulted in a warrant to be issued for Daise on a charge of aggravated battery.

This is reportedly the second incident involving Daise. In September 2024, Daise was charged for the death of a woman, who was struck and killed by an electric bicycle on Dillingham Street Bridge early August.

He was charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and riding a bike on the sidewalk.

Anyone with additional information on the incident is encouraged to contact Sgt. M. Dahnke at 706-326- 3556 or email at mdahnke@columbusga.org.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, while a monetary reward is available for information that leads to the arrest of Daise.
