Livestock compete at Lawrence County Fair

LAWRENECE COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) — Grand champions are already being named at the Lawrence County Fair in Ohio.

The fun kicked off Tuesday morning with multiple livestock shows. From bovine to poultry, 4-H groups and FFA groups showcased their hard work inside the show barns.

13 News spoke with a young member of 4-H about the hard work that goes into these shows.

“My family has been doing it ever since I was born, and my family loved raising chickens, and we just thought it was a really, really fun way to make money, and so we just stuck with that,” said Abijah Patterson, a member of Country Cousins and Kids 4-H Second Class.

The carnival rides will be opening at 4 p.m. There are also more fun events, including a demolition derby and rodeo, later in the week. The fair ends on Saturday, July 12.
