According to a news release, a total of 49 personnel with IN-TF1 will be arriving in Kerr County to contribute to ongoing Search and Rescue operations. Staging for the team has been set in San Antonio.
The deployment will provide some much-needed relief after more than 20 inches of rain fell around Texas’s Hill Country overnight Friday, overwhelming entire structures. As of this article’s publication, at least 100 people have been killed, including several children and counselors who were attending the all-girls Camp Mystic. President Donald Trump has also signed a disaster declaration for the affected area.
IN-TF1 is set to depart shortly after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
