Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Tony Morris, 67, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Kathleen Morris, 64.
The shooting occurred on August 26, 2024, at the couple’s home. Hinds County deputies responded to the scene after they received a 911 call from Morris, who reported he shot his wife.
Deputies found the victim deceased from at least one gunshot wound to her upper body. Investigators determined the shooting was domestic in nature, because the couple was separated and in the process of divorcing.
Morris was sentenced to life in prison in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC).
