Back in April, festival organizers announced that two bluegrass natives would headline the first festival on Kentucky soil after a five-year stint in West Virginia. 2025 will mark the first year Chris Stapleton will make an appearance and Tyler Childers’ fifth consecutive headline slot.
The festivities will kick off on Thursday, September 18, with Andy Frasco & the U.N. and Jeremy Short and round off the weekend on Saturday, September 20, with late-night performances from Kindred Valley and Jack Browning.
“We are thrilled that the Healing Appalachia team is taking a chance on Boyd County, Kentucky for 2025,” said Andrew Steele, Executive Director of Boyd County Tourism. “The mission behind the festival is so impactful for our region, and we are excited to show off what Team Kentucky support looks like from local entities all the way up to the state level!”

Festivalgoers are set to flood the Boyd County Fairgrounds, and many may even see a familiar face, Cole Chaney. The hometown boy is scheduled to take the stage on Saturday.
“I couldn’t be more proud of my home, Boyd County, for hosting this year’s Healing Appalachia,” Chaney wrote. “To get to be a part of it is just the cherry on top. See y’all on Sep 20th.”
Founded and hosted by Lawrence County’s Tyler Childers and his team at Whizzbang BAM, Healing Appalachia has generated more than $5 million over the years for addiction recovery in Appalachia. Their efforts raise funds and awareness to combat opioid addiction through a wide array of projects and programs, from harm reduction to music therapy.
