25-year-old woman dies on Spring River

A 25-year-old woman died Saturday, June 21 after falling from a canoe on the Spring River near the Saddler Falls area, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
Crista Allman was canoeing with a friend when the boat reached a section of the river known as “Needles Eye.” Allman fell into the water at that point, officials said.

Emergency medical personnel responded and attempted life-saving measures. Allman was transported by ambulance to a medical facility in Sharp County, where she was later pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation, pending a report from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
