Woman accused of stealing truck in Hanford arrested
HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman who is accused of stealing a truck in Hanford was arrested, the Hanford Police Department said Monday.

At around 10:30 a.m. on June 30, officers were called to assist California Highway Patrol officers after a stolen truck was found on the railroad tracks west of 11th Avenue on Excelsior Avenue.

The truck was reported stolen from a home in Hanford. The victim had tracked their missing phone, which was left inside, to the current location.

The victim told officers they were working as a pool cleaner and had noticed a woman walking around two of the homes where they were working. The victim said they didn’t think much of it.

After finishing their job, the victim found out that their truck was missing. They said that their phone and other belongings were left in the unlocked truck.

CHP then responded to the truck being stuck on the tracks. They had to quickly remove the woman from the truck as a train was approaching.

The woman told officers that someone had been chasing her. Police said, based on the information she gave them and her being inside the truck, she is being accused of stealing a vehicle.

She was taken into the Kings County Jail.
