Chicagoland got a brief break from the humidity, but the sticky summer air is making a quick comeback.
Warm and muggy conditions are set to return Tuesday, with temperatures climbing into the high 80s by the afternoon.
Sunshine is expected for Tuesday morning, but the heat and humidity will bring a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms by late Tuesday afternoon and evening.
The unsettled weather may continue into early Wednesday morning.
And while rain may put a damper on outdoor summer plans, we do need some in our area given the current drought conditions.
The extended outlook calls for much of this week to be warm, but not too hot, at least compared to last week. Friday looks to be the only day in the low 90s, as of now.
The early weekend forecast looks nice for now, with high temps in the mid-to-high 80s.
