LUBBOCK, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The United Family announced it is launching a company-wide donate-at-the-register campaign for Central Texas Flood Relief. All proceeds from the campaign will be donated to support relief efforts by the San Angelo Area Foundation and Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, the “Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.”

According to officials, in addition to running the campaign across all Texas and New Mexico locations, The United Family will make a lead gift of $10,000.

“We continue to pray for all our fellow Texans who these floods have impacted, especially the families who have lost loved ones,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “Words cannot adequately describe the devastation we are seeing from this event. If guests want to help, they can donate at our registers at check-out. The funds will go to organizations on the ground helping with relief efforts.”

The campaign schedule by location is as follows:

  • Lubbock, Slaton, Abilene, DFW & Wichita Falls Stores – July 8-13
  • All Other Texas Stores – July 8-20
  • All New Mexico Stores – July 8-20

Officials noted that the locations include all United Supermarkets, Albertsons Market, Market Street, and Amigos locations across the region. As with past donate-at-the-register campaigns, guests across the region can add any dollar amount to their grocery bill at checkout. If not prompted by a cashier, guests can always ask to donate. Online shoppers will also be able to add a donation amount at checkout when shopping on the app or website.
