One pint can save a life: American Red Cross calling for blood donations

(WPHL) — While the temperatures rise, so does the need for blood. The American Red Cross is urging donors to give blood or platelets to keep the supply strong this summer.

The non-profit organization says that while all blood types are needed, Type O blood products are in high demand, and severe summer weather can have a sudden impact on the ability to collect blood and platelets.
