According to Gurnee police, officers were first called to the scene around 8:20 p.m. following reports of shots fired in the amusement park’s parking lot.
After officers arrived on the scene, they were unable to find any victims but did locate evidence that a shooting had occurred.
A preliminary investigation indicated that an argument may have unfolded just before the gunshots were fired, though it is unclear what exactly led up to the incident.
Officers said investigators processed the scene and interviewed witnesses to gather additional details.
There is currently no known threat to the public and authorities say updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
