Man sought after teen girls sexually abused during Roscoe Village break in

CHICAGO — Police are searching for the man responsible for breaking into a residence on Chicago’s North Side and sexually abusing two teen girls early Monday morning.

Chicago police said the incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of North Damen in the city’s Roscoe Village neighborhood.

According to police, the man allegedly entered a residence in the area without permission before sexually abusing the victims and fleeing the scene.

Authorities later confirmed that both victims were 15-year-old girls.

Officers described the individual responsible as a Black male who was spotted wearing green shorts and a black hooded sweatshirt.

On Monday, Chicago police shared a photo captured by a surveillance camera of the man believed to be responsible.

In the photo, the man can be spotted carrying a backpack in one hand and a cup in the other.

Police advise the public to remain aware of the incident and notify friends, family or coworkers who work or live in the area where it unfolded.

Police also advise the public to remain aware of their surroundings and pay attention to suspicious individuals or vehicles loitering.

According to officers, anyone who is confronted by an assailant should try to remain calm.

Authorities warn the public never to pursue a fleeing assailant and instead work to remember any unique physical characteristics of the offenders. 

Police say those who fall victim or witness a crime should call 911 immediately and provide authorities with a detailed description of the offenders.
