Livermore crash rips front end off car, 2 severely injured

(KRON) — Two people were critically injured in Livermore on Saturday after a solo car crash sheared the front end off of the vehicle, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.

The severe collision occurred on Greenville Road. Multiple agencies responded to rescue the driver and the passenger from the wreckage, fire officials said. The two were found trapped in the vehicle and required extrication due to the car’s damage and the position of the vehicle next to a brick wall.

The high-impact crash also brought down a live power pole and multiple high-voltage power lines were on the ground, according to ACFD.

A helicopter airlifted the two people with severe injuries to nearby trauma centers. Their current condition as of Tuesday is unknown.

The Alameda County Fire Department was assisted by the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Falck Ambulance and Reach Air Medical Services.

Editor’s note: The Alameda County Fire Department issued a corrected date of the incident, which is now reflected in our story.
