In a Facebook post, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office shared that deputies were called at 1:28 a.m. on July 6 regarding a shooting at a home on Garland Road.
Deputies said they found 35-year-old Thomas Dick of Aurora, Indiana, shot inside the home. He was later declared dead at the scene.
According to investigators, 35-year-old Anthony Emerson of Batavia, Ohio, was charged with murder.
The sheriff’s office confirmed Emerson initially called dispatch, claiming he had shot Dick during an “altercation.”
Emerson was booked into the Pulaski County Detention Center and is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
