Mass shooting in Grays Ferry kills 3 injures 11 other; 139 shell casings found

(WPHL) — A mass shooting in Grays Ferry has killed 3 people and injured 11 others.

According to police, gunfire sprayed the 1500 block of Etting Street in Grays Ferry at 1 a.m. Officers who were patrolling the neighborhood at the time of the shooting heard a barrage of gunfire and rushed to the area to see a crowd of people running away and inside their homes.

Police said 8 people were rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and others were transported by neighbors, family, and friends

At the scene, 139 casings have already been found.

While police have multiple people in custody involved in the shooting, Commissioner Kevin Bethel said they are still searching for several other suspects.
