The shooting occurred in the 100 block of Alcorn Drive just before 8:00 a.m. on July 6.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The suspect was identified as Chris Jones, 34. He is wanted for aggravated assault.
Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones said the incident stemmed from a domestic-related dispute, during which another relative was shot. She said Jones fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Impala with black rims.
“We appreciate the community’s continued support and ask anyone with information on Jones’ whereabouts to contact the Vicksburg Police Department immediately,” said Jones.
