
Eligible families with children enrolled in West Virginia schools can receive a $200 benefit per child. The allowance is intended to help families purchase school clothing or pieces of goods if families choose to sew their children’s clothes.
Eligibility for the allowance depends on household income. For example, a family of four can earn up to $3,380 monthly. Income verification for July is required with all applications.
Income eligibility varies according to family size:
- 1 person household: $1,632 monthly
- 2 person household: $2,215 monthly
- 3 person household: $2,798 monthly
- 4 person household: $3,380 monthly
- 5 person household: $3,963 monthly
- 6 person household: $4,456 monthly
- 7 person household: $5,129 monthly
- 8 person household: $5,712 monthly
- 9 person household: $6,295 monthly
- 10 person household: $6,878 monthly
(An additional $583 monthly for each additional household member.)
Families may apply online at www.wvPATH.wv.gov or request a paper application by contacting their local DHHR office or calling 1-877-716-1212.
The deadline to submit applications is July 31, 2025.
Recipients will receive benefits through an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card, allowing them to make purchases online or at participating retailers that accept EBT cash transactions. Foster care recipients will receive their allowance via check.
