Special Election set in Virginia’s 11th District

Washington (DC News Now) — The race has been set for Virginia’s 11th District. Over the weekend, democrats and republicans in Northern Virginia named their nominee to replace late Congressman Gerry Connolly for the rest of his term.

James Walkinshaw (D), Connolly’s former Chief of Staff. Walkinshaw will face off against Republican nominee, Stewart Whitson.

Dr. Stephen Farnsworth with University of Mary Washington sets up the scene to what we can expect for September’s special election.
