Police captain killed in Iberville Parish stabbing, suspect in custody
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly stabbing that happened Sunday on Legion Street, according to Sheriff Brett Stassi.
Stassi said the incident began as an argument and escalated into a stabbing. The suspect has been detained, and a crime lab is currently on the scene assisting with the investigation.
Iberville Parish Councilman Raheem Price has confirmed that the victim in the incident was Police Captain Devin Boutte. Further details, including the time of the incident and the identity of the suspect, have not been released.
